Porsche
Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of one of today’s most well-known luxury vehicle manufacturers, was born in 1875. After grammar school, in 1889, Porsche joined his father’s family business as a plumber apprentice. Eleven years later, the Lohner-Porsche is presented at the World Fair in Paris. The wheel hub engines designed and built by Porsche gained him worldwide attention. Six years later, in 1906, Porsche became the technical director of Austro-Daimler. more info...
Lotus
The founder of Lotus, Colin Chapman, built his first car in 1948. The Mark 1 was the first Lotus in history. That same year, Chapman worked on the Mark 2. This creation was considered state-of-the-art for its time. The Mark 2 was the first Lotus car to hit the road.
